Mark played his first services in Camarillo Sunday, Feb. 21. He comes to the Camarillo church after 37 years as organist for First Lutheran Church of Northridge and is in his 17th year at California Lutheran University where he is the University Organist and Chapel Music Coordinator. Mark’s hobbies include attending classic rock-and-roll concerts and listening to top organists. The Camarillo United Methodist Church is located at 291 Anacapa Dr., north of Las Posas Rd. Sun, Mar 14: CROP Hunger Walk includes eight Camarillo churches for the 27th annual event. The Walk will aid a wide variety of charities, both locally and nationally. This year’s CROP Walk will start in Constitution Park (next to Camarillo City Hall), at corner of Carmen and Ponderosa drive, with registration beginning at 12:45 p.m. The walk will start promptly at 1:15 p.m. and has two options – 5k (3.1 miles) or 10k (6.2 miles). Sponsor envelopes and information on the Walk are available at the nine sponsoring churches including: Camarillo United Methodist (this year’s sponsor), Mt. Cross Lutheran, Peace Lutheran, St. Columba’s Episcopal, Padre Serra Parish, St. Mary Magdalen Parish, Seventh-day Adventist, and Trinity Presbyterian. Fri, Apr 9: Application Deadline for new director of CUMC's Child Development Center (job/career/employment opportunity). The Camarillo United Methodist Church is seeking a new director for its well-known Child Development Center. Kathy Gebauer, who has been director of past 13 years, is retiring the end of July. The center, one of the few accredited by the National Association for the Education of the Young Child in Ventura County, has 150 students in a program for 2 ½ through 5 year olds.
